THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Business and Professional Women’s Clubs of Ontario urges the Government of Ontario to amend the Employment Standards Act to include a provision for “Eternity Leave” to enable an employee to take a job-protected leave of absence up to 12 weeks per annum due to illness or injury of a member of the employee’s family with the example already set by the Saskatchewan Labour Standards Code, section 44.2(1).
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the Business and Professional Women’s Clubs of Ontario urges the Government of Ontario to continue its support for research and education into the long-term effects of family member illness and death on worker –productivity, workplace satisfaction and overall attitude within the workplace
